Reena Simon's hygge tips for spring
One of our favourite Scandi-loving Instagramers, Reena Simon of @hygge_for_home, shares her seasonal tips for creating a warm, inviting home this spring
1 Choose flowers that remind you of this time of year or evoke a memory – whether it’s a colour, seasonal foliage or the smell. I like to create a vignette using single stems and bud vases.
2 Candles are a given all year round, but now’s the time to change the scent. Think fresh, bright and crisp, with jasmine, peony and even the smell of your garden.
3 It’s probably still too early to put away the sheepskins and blankets as the spring air can still be bitter. Keep warm and cosy with blankets accessible and handy, maybe stored in wicker baskets around your home.
4 Spread the cosiness throughout your home and focus on overlooked areas or unexpected places for hygge, such as the bathroom. An array of candles on a bath board with touches of greenery will bring a sense of calm and wellbeing.

5 Lighting has a major impact on our mood, and while spring brings with it more hours of natural daylight, the sun still sets quite early. To counteract the darkness, make sure you have enough light sources that radiate warm, soft hues – and the fairy lights can stay for now…
6 A cosy home suits a warm and neutral colour scheme but spring is the perfect time for a refresh. Focus on whites, beige and greys. I enjoy colour-blocking using a similar palette throughout with just a tonal shift.
7 If you have an outdoor space and the weather is being kind, spruce it up to create a cosy outdoor nook. You can keep it simple, with just a chair and a blanket and have five minutes to soak up a daily dose of vitamin D.
