Inside our Vol 15 Autumn issue

Our new issue looks forward to the new season… Scandi style

And just like that we are ready to embrace autumn – and what a cosy treat we have in store for you. I’ve always loved the Danish word hygge (in some ways it reminds me of the Welsh word cwtch, which has always been a favourite of mine since growing up in the Welsh Valleys). It has the same sense of contentment, warmth and love… but as writer Laura Hall explains in our Scandi Special, hygge is such a dominant part of everyday culture in Denmark. And while it might be hard to define with a single word in English, there are plenty of ways you can embrace it this autumn, starting right here, with your favourite Scandi magazine.

I love the homes in this issue, from a summer cottage in Finland that works for Anne and her family all year round, to Tina’s Danish home that’s full of rich colour and soft textures, and Frida’s renovation of a Swedish house, showing how to do pattern, Scandi style; there’s so much to inspire your own Scandi home.

Talking of inspiration, have you seen Simply Scandi Retreats? It’s our first bookazine and is full of the best hideaways, whether country or coastal or city. Head to our website to order a copy straight to your door. We’re also busy planning Simply Scandi Christmas 2024, which hits the shelves 26 September.

Until next time…

Editor, Simply Scandi
